Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Software Quality Assurance Manager to lead and evolve the Quality Assurance function within a fast-paced, Agile technology environment. This role is responsible for overseeing a team of QA Engineers/Testers, driving software quality initiatives, advancing test automation practices, and ensuring high-quality delivery across web, mobile, and integrated platform solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience, deep understanding of Agile/Sprint delivery models, expertise in modern QA methodologies, and proven success managing QA operations within a Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystem. This individual must be capable of operating both strategically and tactically — leading the QA organization while remaining actively engaged in delivery execution, process improvement, automation strategy, and cross-functional collaboration. This position will directly oversee a team of four QA resources and work closely with Product, Engineering, IT, and leadership teams to continuously improve software quality, release stability, and overall delivery efficiency.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA Engineers/Testers across manual and automated testing initiatives
- Establish clear QA processes, standards, expectations, and accountability measures
- Drive a culture of ownership, quality, continuous improvement, and collaboration
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, career development planning, and ongoing mentorship for QA team members
- Assist in scaling the QA organization, including hiring, onboarding, and defining growth paths
Quality Assurance Strategy & Execution
- Own and evolve the overall QA strategy
- Define and enforce QA best practices, testing standards, release readiness criteria, and defect management processes
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional, regression, integration, smoke, usability, and performance testing
- Maintain active engagement throughout the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements that enhance software quality and delivery consistency
- Drive root cause analysis efforts for production issues and quality-related incidents
Automation & Tooling
- Lead and expand QA automation initiatives
- Develop and oversee automation strategies that improve efficiency, scalability, and test reliability
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to improve CI/CD quality integration and automated validation processes
- Evaluate and recommend QA tools, frameworks, and technologies aligned with organizational goals
- Ensure automated test suites remain maintainable, scalable, and aligned with evolving platform functionality
Agile / Sprint Execution
- Actively participate in Sprint ceremonies including Grooming, Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives, and Release Readiness activities
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to ensure sprint readiness and delivery alignment
- Help enforce clear acceptance criteria, test readiness, and release quality standards
- Monitor QA throughput, defect trends, release metrics, and overall sprint quality performance
- Assist in identifying delivery risks, dependencies, and quality concerns early in the development lifecycle
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Owners, Software Engineers, DevOps, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on delivery objectives
- Support production release validation and post-release monitoring activities
- Assist in establishing strong communication and operational coordination between QA and other departments
- Contribute to broader Technology department initiatives, operational improvements, and quality-focused culture development
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience in enterprise or high-growth technology environments
- 3+ years of direct QA leadership or QA management experience
- Strong experience leading QA teams within Agile/Scrum Sprint environments
- Strong understanding of manual and automated testing methodologies
- Experience testing web applications, APIs, integrations, and mobile platforms
- Experience working within Microsoft/Azure cloud environments
- Strong understanding of SDLC, defect lifecycle management, and release management processes
- Experience collaborating closely with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to balance strategic leadership responsibilities while remaining hands-on and execution-focused
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Katalon Studio automation framework
- Experience working within Azure DevOps environments
- Experience integrating QA automation into CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to performance/load testing methodologies and tools
- Experience with API testing tools and methodologies
- Familiarity with telemetry, monitoring, and production validation practices
- Experience within fast-paced, startup-like or rapidly scaling organizations

Compensation
Expected Salary Range: $118,000 – $130,000 annually Final compensation will be based on experience, technical expertise, leadership background, and overall fit for the role.
